Ivy Deadlock: put the kit into practice

These sequences are editorial practice suggestions, not a fixed skill-up or item build.

Keep the connection usable

Kudzu Connection links a nearby ally and requires line of sight. It supplies bonuses and replicated healing, and removes the movement penalty while shooting; the saved description also specifies reduced bonuses without a connection. In lane, practice moving with the linked teammate instead of taking opposite sides of solid cover. Do not assume a link remains useful just because you were close when you cast it. This support decision is about the ally’s position as well as yours.

Agree on the landing before Air Drop

Air Drop carries an ally in flight and dropping them creates an explosion. The carried ally cannot attack while lifted, and the source also describes reduced damage during the lift. Agree on a destination before moving a teammate who is already fighting. In a team fight, transporting someone can interrupt their immediate attack plan even if the landing is useful. Taking damage briefly disables activation, so do not assume you can always start a rescue after pressure has arrived.

Use the ground tools for different problems

Entangling Thorns creates a damaging, slowing patch; Stone Form turns Ivy into impervious stone, slams nearby enemies with damage and a stun, and heals her. Try thorns where an enemy wants to move, while reserving the transformation for immediate pressure around Ivy. A common mistake is treating both as interchangeable area damage. One controls a patch of ground; the other changes Ivy’s own state and affects enemies nearby. No exact duration or build breakpoint is assumed here.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ivy suitable for beginners?

Our learning estimate is high. Start by practicing Entangling Thorns, then work on the timing of Air Drop. Coordinating an ally lift and managing your defensive transformation takes communication.
