About Deadlock Heroes
Learn how Deadlock Heroes creates beginner-friendly Deadlock hero dossiers, recommendations and community-data summaries.
An independent field guide
Deadlock Heroes is an unofficial English-language guide for people choosing a Deadlock hero. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve. Operated by Deadlock Heroes (independent fan project).
The editorial method
We check release flags, connect four signature skills by class name and write our own short explanations. Playstyle tags and learning difficulty are editorial judgments, based on the kit and coordination demands, not official classifications. API complexity values are retained as source evidence, not official difficulty stars. Skill source links are grouped by their actual API or Steam origin in each guide, with one record-check date; unverified mechanics remain clearly marked. Practice sequences are editorial suggestions derived from the saved mechanics, not official skill-up orders or item builds. The first draft awaits editorial review.
Data and attribution
Thank you to deadlock-api.com for openly accessible hero, ability and community match data. Its API code is MIT-licensed; that statement does not transfer Valve’s game or artwork rights. We use no official portraits, logos or skill icons. Statistical coverage is imperfect, and every snapshot has a date.
